Perhaps it’s that time of the year. Or perhaps it’s because we met for lunch yesterday. Whatever the reason, it started me thinking about my friendship with Lisa.
My very first experience of her was of her open heart, generosity and thoughtfulness.
We first met through an online breakfast group many years ago and, at one point, decided to meet and go together to a special women’s event.
We met for coffee and she handed me a wrapped gift. Inside was one of those beautiful Paperchase notebooks so I could take notes at the event.
To this day, many years later, love, generosity and giving are Lisa’s hallmark. This is who she is.
When I was planning the celebration of my latest book and in total ignorance of what it takes to organise such an event, she took charge of all the details so that the actual event is now a truly joyful memory.
If I had to choose one thing that I treasure about her, I’d say it’s that she makes me feel truly loved, that she totally believes in me and what I want to do in the world.
Lisa’s latest initiative was connecting me with another woman, Traci, knowing that the two of us would click. Lisa knew that such an alliance would enable Traci and me to create a workshop we’re calling ‘Learn to Love’ which is scheduled to run on Saturday, 16 February 2019.
Lisa believes in us so much that she has taken over the marketing, she booked the venue including a light lunch and is out there championing us.
In case you wonder, she owns and, together with her husband David, runs a telecom company, supports local causes, self-published her Mum’s (Eileen B. Wiltcher) autobiography ‘A Spanner In The Works’ (a great read, available on Amazon), organised her book launch party which was a mega success, has an active interest in promoting local business women and much, much more.
Lisa is a true inspiration to me.
As with Bev, we must have met roughly 10 years ago when I was 63.
And like Bev, with Lisa I am more and because of her, I have more to give.
Thanks, Lisa, from the bottom of my heart!
With love and gratitude
